Aaron wrapped up his baseball season last weekend. His team ended their season playing well, they wrapped up with around a .500 average. Aaron grew and changed so much with this baseball season. He was placed in the role of pitcher twice. I was so nervous for him that I could barely watch! He had 1 score on him, but he struck out 2 batters and his infield backed him up well on some pop flies. He did so well! But the role he really fell into and loved this year was catcher. He was put in mid season for a few innings to see how he would do, and he stayed there pretty much the rest of the year. His arm is accurate, so he was able to pick off runners stealing bases pretty easily, and he has a lot of endurance behind the plate. During our marathon tournament day ( 12 long hours!!! ) he was catcher 13 of 18 innings. He got banged up good when a runner fron 3rd base was running for home, Aaron had the ball, and collided with him at home plate. He had a bruised up collar bone and had to ice up afterward, but he got the out! :) Aaron truly loves the game and puts all his effort in it, and that makes me a proud mama! Tired, but proud!
Also, thanks to everyone for all of the thoughtful birthday wishes today! My guys treated me to a day at the pool, dinner at LaPiazza, and ice cream at Cold Stone. I was also told that I can pick out a KitchenAid mixer! Woo hoo!!! :) Now if I can just not do the getting older part!!! Although I can say that 38 isn't really bothering me at all, which surprises me. The older I get, the more I grow, and am thankful that the Lord has blessed me with another year. I have seen first hand that life is short, and that is is so important to love and live with all that you are. So I am thankful for another year with all of you!
I started my birthday celebration a bit early with my mother in law Pat on Thursday, when we saw Parrots of the Caribbean at the Fraze. Those that have known me awhile know that I am a Jimmy Buffett loving Parrothead! This Buffett tribute band we saw were top notch, and looked and sounded just like the real deal! We sang and danced until we just about dropped, it was a blast! I may be 38, but I am not to old to dance the night away!!! Thanks for a fun evening, Mom Pat! Love you!!!
