Welcome to our homestead! Our home is a fun one, full of love, laughter, and downright goofiness sometimes! Check in on us as we tend to our rural 2 acres, raise our 11 year old son, fight fires and chase bad guys! ( That's just Greg, I'll stick with the gardening and cooking! ) We pray that we honor the Lord in the process, as we strive to grow in His grace.

20 Years??? Seriously???

Yes, I have to face reality. I graduated from Fairborn High School 20 years ago. Wow! I went to one night of our reunion last night and had fun reconnecting with old friends. I had 4 friends that I knew that I just had to see, and thankfully they were all there! Kelly, Kim, Newt, Roxanne and I were such close friends, and I was usually with one of them at all times, unless I was with my friend Tammy, who went to Greenon. It was just like old times, and I really enjoyed my time with them. I saw other people as well that I hadn't seen in a full 20 years, but my full intent was to see these 4! Also a good friend from class of '90, Keli Hanson, stopped by too, and it was great to visit with her. We all decided that we are aging like fine wine, and we are just getting better all the time!

I sometimes forget that I was quite a different person at 17 that I am now. I liked the nightlife more than the daylife back then, and I wasn't grounded in the Lord, or in much of anything, really. So at first I was surprised when a few people were surprised by me! I changed and found the Lord 3 years after high school, but many people hadn't seen me in that long. I got a few laughs about being a "country girl", gardening, homeschooling, and chickens running through my yard! :) But I wouldn't have life any other way, and I am so happy with the life I have. I would never want to be in high school again ( in all honesty, I really hated it ). But these friends, along with my dear friend Selena, were my anchors during the rocky waters of high school, and I am so thankful for them!!! And, after seeing my senior picture again, I am thankful that I no longer have that giant hair!!! LOL!
