Welcome to our homestead! Our home is a fun one, full of love, laughter, and downright goofiness sometimes! Check in on us as we tend to our rural 2 acres, raise our 11 year old son, fight fires and chase bad guys! ( That's just Greg, I'll stick with the gardening and cooking! ) We pray that we honor the Lord in the process, as we strive to grow in His grace.

The End Of Another Soccer Season

Today Aaron's soccer season ended with a parents play the kids night. I watched while Greg and Aaron played! It was a nice evening to end a winning season. This past Saturday his team played in the state tournaments at Little Miami High School in Morrow. My dad's alma mater and old stomping ground! :) My inlaw's Lloyd and Bev and cousins Sandy and Howard came to watch the game. It was close the entire game. At the end of the game the teams were tied 2-2. So, they had to play 2 OT quarters, and then they were still tied 3-3! So, it went to a sudden death shoot out, and they lost 2-1. The kids were bummed, but they played so well! He is kinda sad to see the season end, but after a 5 month season, I am ready for a break from the soccer field!
After the game, Sandy and Howard took us to the Lewis family plot at the cemetary. I was able to see where Dad's stone will go, as well as where my uncle's stone is, my great grandparents, etc. Then we enjoyed a relaxing lunch together. Afterwards, I drove Aaron past my Papaw and Mamaw's old house, where my Dad grew up. Then, we stopped at the Kings Mills Christmas store by Kings Island. It was such a wonderful store, I have never seen so much Christmas stuff ever, and it was in a 100 year old general store. Very cool! Aaron picked out his ornament for this year, a Flintstone's one. After a final loop around town so Aaron could see the Eiffel Tower at Kings Island, we headed home. Even though his team lost, it turned out to be a great day.
