Welcome to our homestead! Our home is a fun one, full of love, laughter, and downright goofiness sometimes! Check in on us as we tend to our rural 2 acres, raise our 11 year old son, fight fires and chase bad guys! ( That's just Greg, I'll stick with the gardening and cooking! ) We pray that we honor the Lord in the process, as we strive to grow in His grace.

A Little Bit Of Kentucky

Most of you know that I am somewhat of a hillbilly at heart! I love Kentucky, and I am sure that was bred somewhere in my heart from my Mamaw, who was born there, and lived only about 30 miles away from where Greg's family is from. I have spent a lot of time there over the years, and I always miss the beautiful land and the hills, and the southern drawl of our family who live there! On my way home from the wedding, I stopped to take a few pics of one of my favorite places. This is Goddard Covered Bridge, in Fleming County, KY. I have always found it to be beautiful, along with the white church that sits on the other side of it. I would have loved to get a pic from the road to get the bridge and church in the same picture, but there was too much traffic to do that. I also love barn quilts, and this barn sits close to the church. There is so much history and heritage there, and it all isn't too far from where my Mamaw was born nearly 100 years ago. I also stopped at our family cemetary plot on my way through Morehead, where my Great-great grandparents are, and several other family members. No wonder part of my heart is always in Kentucky! :)
