Welcome to our homestead! Our home is a fun one, full of love, laughter, and downright goofiness sometimes! Check in on us as we tend to our rural 2 acres, raise our 11 year old son, fight fires and chase bad guys! ( That's just Greg, I'll stick with the gardening and cooking! ) We pray that we honor the Lord in the process, as we strive to grow in His grace.

Make Your Own Lavender Powder

Happy Valentines Day! Here's a recipe to make you smell sweet for your sweetie this Valentines day. Yup, I know, that was totally corny. This recipe is super easy, and really does keep your scent sweet and your skin soft. You will need ~
~ 1 C. corn starch OR arrowroot powder. ( I prefer the arrowroot powder, it has a silkier feel. You can find this at a healthfood store, I get mine at Fountain Acre Foods outside of Richmond.
~ 1/2 tsp sesame oil or sweet almond oil
~ a few drops lavender essential oil, to your liking of how light or strong you like your scent
~ 1 tbsp dried lavender buds, I get mine at Bushel and a Peck in Clayton.
Mix everything together in a blender until soft and powdery, and thats it! Put it in a shaker container, or a container with a powder puff. Keeps you dry and smelling fresh for your valentine! :) Enjoy!
