Welcome to our homestead! Our home is a fun one, full of love, laughter, and downright goofiness sometimes! Check in on us as we tend to our rural 2 acres, raise our 11 year old son, fight fires and chase bad guys! ( That's just Greg, I'll stick with the gardening and cooking! ) We pray that we honor the Lord in the process, as we strive to grow in His grace.

Ahhhh, A Much Needed Getaway

Greg and I celebrated 13 years of marriage on Monday! Simply put, the best 13 years of my life. The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful hubby!
Monday night, he took me to LaPiazza, the best Italian resturant EVER. If you haven't been there, you must go there right now. Really. After that, a date night wouldn't be complete for us without going to Menard's and Cold Stone. It was such a relaxing evening to eat, talk, and spend much needed time together.
Tuesday Morning we took Aaron to Papaw Lloyd's and Grandma Bev's, and we headed to a cabin in Hocking Hills for a night. The weather was crazy with tornado warnings, and crazy wind and rain! We did some antiquing, waited out the storm in WalMart, and then got to check into our cabin. The cabin was so pretty, warm, and cozy. Since it poured all evening, Greg built a fire, and we spent the evening by the fire. He also grilled out dinner on the covered deck and we relaxed in the hot tub. I am so glad that it rained, it made us slow down and decompress, and enjoy some much needed down time. This morning was beautiful, so we hiked the property and took in the panoramic views of the hills. The property was 150 acres with a pond and trails, and is so private and secluded. WE went to our favorite Dutch Inn for lunch and headed for home.
After such a hard and draining week, it was so refreshing to get some quiet time away with my love. It was what the Dr. ordered.
