Welcome to our homestead! Our home is a fun one, full of love, laughter, and downright goofiness sometimes! Check in on us as we tend to our rural 2 acres, raise our 11 year old son, fight fires and chase bad guys! ( That's just Greg, I'll stick with the gardening and cooking! ) We pray that we honor the Lord in the process, as we strive to grow in His grace.

A Weekend In Chicago

Aaron and I went to Chicago for 4 days with Grandma Bev to babysit Lucia, Adam, and Cecilia, so Chris and Denise could take a trip to D.C. The kids had a blast! On Friday, we took all the kids, except Lucia since she had school, to Shedd Aquarium. What a beautiful place! The dolphins and sharks were amazing. I enjoyed the coral exhibit and all of the varities of sea horses. The cafe was delicious with great views of Lake Michigan. Aaron enjoyed his first taxi ride there, and hoped we would end up in the Cash Cab! On Saturday morning we took the kids swimming at their condo's pool, they played hard and burned a bunch of energy! On Sat. evening we took the kids on a walk down Michigan Ave. to see the lights. Bev and I loved the walk and seeing the lights and all of the shoppers. Aaron liked the American Gothic statue and the WGN building, and walking over the drawbridge over the Chicago River. The kids were so good. Aaron and Lucia are such good friends and they played together the whole time without any squabbles at all! Adam is such a pumpkin and made me all kinds of pictures to bring home to put on my fridge. Cecilia is a cutie who has the funniest facial expressions! All 3 kids are bi-lingual because their mom, Denise, is from Puerto Rico, and they would sometimes answer my questions in Spanish and then crack up since I had no clue what they said! All 4 kids would answer most of our questions " No comprendo ", and Aaron has come home with lots of new Spanish words. I love the view from their condo of Lake Michigan, it is beautiful. It was a great visit, and we miss the kids already!!!

  1. I would love to see Chicago decorated for Christmas but I'm afraid I am too wimpy for the blustery weather! I'll bet Michigan Avenue was gorgeous!
