Welcome to our homestead! Our home is a fun one, full of love, laughter, and downright goofiness sometimes! Check in on us as we tend to our rural 2 acres, raise our 11 year old son, fight fires and chase bad guys! ( That's just Greg, I'll stick with the gardening and cooking! ) We pray that we honor the Lord in the process, as we strive to grow in His grace.

A Week of Band Concerts, Christmas Parties, and Cut Out Cookies!

What a busy week! Wednesday night was our annual Awana Christmas Party at church. Aaron is on stage with friends Carson, Caleb and Ian, reading a Christmas poem. My Awana girls read poems about how children around the world celebrate Christmas. They are a great group of girls, we love them! Thursday night was Aaron's first band concert. He is playing the clarinet this year and seems to be catching on quickly. It impresses me, I can't even make a sound come out of the thing, let alone a note!!! All of the band did a great job, especially for only playing their instruments for a few months. Friday evening was the Oakwood FOP Christmas party at the firehouse, with subs, snacks, Santa arriving on a fire engine, and gifts for all of the kids! There was a good turn out, and it was a wonderful evening getting to know the families of the officers. The downer of that evening was that my trust old van basically blew up on the way home. I was able to limp it home, thankfully Greg followed me home in his car, so I wouldn't get stranded in Drexel. That in itself frightens me more than not having my van!!! Yesterday Aaron and I tackled the all afternoon task of homemade cut out sugar cookies. It may be a lot of work, but it is soooooo worth the effort, and the extra time on the treadmill I need after consuming large amounts of them.

  1. I cannot believe how tall Aaron has gotten! Holy cow, that photo with him on Santa's lap really shows how long his legs are!
I have not yet baked....hope to tackle it this week but making no promises.
