Welcome to our homestead! Our home is a fun one, full of love, laughter, and downright goofiness sometimes! Check in on us as we tend to our rural 2 acres, raise our 11 year old son, fight fires and chase bad guys! ( That's just Greg, I'll stick with the gardening and cooking! ) We pray that we honor the Lord in the process, as we strive to grow in His grace.

Panama City Beach

We arrived home yesterday from a fun week at the beach! It wasn't as warm as it has been in past years, it ranged from the 50's to the mid 60's. It still felt wonderful to walk barefoot in the sand, listen to the waves, and feel some sunshine. It made it even more sweet knowing that there was a snowstorm going on at home and we were missing it!!! My in-laws, Lloyd and Bev came with us this year. It was great having them along! We had a 3 bedroom condo at a resort called Splash, so there was plenty of room for everyone to relax. Aaron loved having Papaw and Grandma all to himself, and he has really missed them since we got home. What a wonderful experience for him to get to spend a week on vacation with his grandparents, it was such a special trip, and I know he will always remember it! Aaron had a blast on the beach, playing football, digging for clams, making sandcastles, and having Greg and Papaw bury him in the sand. He also loved the game room at the condo with bowling and video games. We had some wonderful dinners out, including seafood that the Boondocks, steak and shrimp at the Boarshead, and Aaron's favorite place, Margaritaville. He loves anything Jimmy Buffett, just like his Mama!!! Aaron also got crablegs for the first time, and was a pro at getting the meat out. He devoured them! 8 years old, and already has expensive taste!!! Bev and I went to Destin one day to check out the huge outlet mall. We got some great bargins, had a bunch of laughs, and had so much fun. The only downfall of the trip was that Greg got a sinus infection, and had to go to urgent care and get meds and a shot. Poor guy drove 13 hours to get a shot. Yuck! On our way home we stopped for lunch at Sherri's in Louisville. It was a treat to have such a good lunch and a wonderful afternoon with friends. When we were in Florida I would look out my window and see the sparkling white sand. Now, out the window, I see LOTS of white snow. I am glad to be home, but I would rather see sand !!!!
