Welcome to our homestead! Our home is a fun one, full of love, laughter, and downright goofiness sometimes! Check in on us as we tend to our rural 2 acres, raise our 11 year old son, fight fires and chase bad guys! ( That's just Greg, I'll stick with the gardening and cooking! ) We pray that we honor the Lord in the process, as we strive to grow in His grace.

Updates!

For those who may not know, my Dad had a colostomy reversal done on Tuesday. The surgery went really well, and he is recovering quickly. When I went to see him at the hospital today, he was dressed and walking around !!! He is bored and wanting to go home! He will have some soft solid foods tomorrow, and if they settle well he will get to go home! Hooray for that! The other side of this is that the cancer has traveled, and has settled into some spots on his lungs and possibly a few pea sized lumps in his abdomen as well. He is going to visit a naturopath next week to be put on a cancer-fighting diet, and he will be visiting a Dr. to be put on an advanced form of chemo that is insulin driven, and penetrates only the cancer cells, and doesn't flood your whole body with the chemo. The side effects are much smaller than with standard therapy. We are all very optimistic and he feels great! Please keep him and this cancer journey in your prayers. On a different note, Aaron was tossing the baseball up and catching it tonight, and he missed and it hit him in the mouth, cracking one of his new permanent teeth. It looks like it is holding together but is a bit loose. Greg called the dentist, and as long as there is no change in the tooth, he will see the dentist Monday. Fun stuff! I want to wish Sherri and Greg a happy 15th anniversary, and happy 10th to my cousin Anne and her hubby Roy! Congrats to both!!!
